UTC Climate, Controls and Security Systems is a climate, fire and security products and services provider and is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation. UTC Fire & Security is a $5.5 billion company with 45,000 employees serving customers in 25 countries.

History

UTC entered the fire and security industry in July 2003 with the acquisition of Chubb. In April 2005, they expanded their presence with the acquisition of Kidde, and the business unit was renamed UTC Fire & Security. Later that year they acquired Lenel Systems International for $440M and Initial Fire and Security for £585M. In March 2010, UTC announced the acquisition of GE Security for $1.8B which was integrated under the Interlogix brand. On September 28, 2011, UTC announced Fire & Security would be merged with the Carrier division and renamed UTC Climate, Controls and Security Systems.
